Hot weather MVPs you need to have in your stash, pronto.

Sweatproof Your Beauty Look

When it comes to wearing makeup, the W hot and humid climate we face daily does not help at all. Disappearing foundation, streaky makeup and flushed cheeks are just some of things that we have to live with.

The good news: Help is at hand. To perfect your heat-proof makeup, these hard-working MVPs are just what you need to keep you feeling and looking your best, even as temperatures soar.

SKIN PREP

To ensure that makeup goes on smoothly, it's important to keep skin well-hydrated - but be careful to select the right moisturiser for your skin type and needs. Too thick and makeup won't adhere well, while too light and makeup could look patchy.

To combat the heat and humidity, opt for a lightweight and preferably water-based moisturiser that will keep skin well-hydrated and feeling comfortable.

TRY

1. Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream

$57

A whipped gel cream that's infused with plum extract, hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acid to deliver long-lasting moisture, while ice willowherb keeps skin shine-free.

2. Dermalogica Clear Start Cooling Aqua Jelly

$41

An ultra-lightweight moisturiser that does double duty as it hydrates with hyaluronic acid, while reducing excess sebum production with a retinol-like bioflavnoid complex to keep skin balanced and healthy.

PRIME TIME

Sweating is inevitable, especially when you're living in Singapore. To prevent makeup from sliding off or disappearing by midday, apply a makeup primer before foundation. It not only evens out the complexion by reducing the appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines, post-acne marks and uneven skin tone, but also acts as a barrier between the skin and makeup, so sweat won't affect your makeup as much. In short, it helps makeup stay intact and last longer.
