Austrian Audio was formed in 2017 when a group of former AKG staff found themselves out of work after the company closed its offices in Vienna. Reflecting AKG’s professional focus, Austrian’s first products included a number of microphones and closed-back ‘Hi-X’ headphones designed for mixing and mastering in recording studios. The new Hi-X65 follows that tradition, but casts its net a little wider with an open-back design.
