A former designer at some of the world’s leading automotive companies, Vazirani has built the Shul, a concept car that he says is ‘India’s first hypercar.’
What are the first thoughts the term ‘hypercar’ invokes? Lightning-fast speed? Exotic looks? Jaw dropping price tags? Premium exclusivity? Even though these are the exact qualities that supercars have, the distinguishing factors for a hypercar include even crazier prices, much more power and speed and highly limited numbers. How well does Chunky Vazirani’s exciting new homegrown concept, the Shul, hold up against these definitions?
In case you missed it, the Shul Inspire Gran Turismo concept, to give it its full name, debuted at the Michelin Supercar Paddock during the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed, in the United Kingdom. Built under the banner of Vazirani Automotive, the car’s spec sheet features four electric motors and a complimentary jet turbine - essentially a compact powertrain encased in a carbon-fiber suit. Expect a minimum power output of 1,000 bhp, says Vazirani, the company's founder and chief designer.
