Michael Friedman, Head of Complications, Audemars Piguet on the brand’s heritage models, its SIHH stars and the significance of the Indian market.
You have a very interesting role at Audemars Piguet. Could you tell us what this role entails?
The main aspect of my role is really the relationships with clients around the world - developing the collections, developing the knowledge, working with clients on putting together the best possible collections for them, for what their interests are. The collector of important vintage watches is also a collector of important modern watches and vice versa, so, in that respect, my role will remain the same of really being a curator for our top collectors and enthusiasts. I am also moving to the complications department, so where I was doing lots of writing and publishing, specifically oriented towards the Museum and the Heritage collection, I am now going to be shifting that work over towards the contemporary sphere of what Audemars Piguet is up to, with references to the past.
What are the new Audemars Piguet models at SIHH 2019?
