Artur Walachowksi describes his award-winning build of Border Model’s new Panzer IV Ausf. G.
It’s always exciting to hear that a new manufacturer has joined the plastic kit scene and Border Model made their debut earlier this year with Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.G Mid/Late ‘2 in 1’. When I received the model I was very curious about its quality and Border’s take on such a popular subject. Having read the editor’s review of the kit back in the March 2019 issue, I knew I was in for a treat and indeed I was not disappointed. The quality of the moulding and the fit, as well as the inclusion of photoetch and numerous optional details to model various versions of the Panzer IV Ausf. G allows you to make a very good model straight from the box, without expensive additions. The model you see in this issue of the magazine has been made straight from the box. Construction was absolutely trouble free and great fun. Indeed, the whole project went so smoothly that I did not want to stop take in-progress photos, so I only have images of the completed model. I guess that’s the sign of a really enjoyable build!
