The roots for a revolutionary all-natural skincare line began in Mississippi’s soil.

The word “miracle” is often thrown around lightly, much like the term “life-changing.” But in the case of natural skincare company Mississippi Miracle Clay, both terms seem more than appropriate.

Mississippi Miracle Clay is based in north Mississippi and was officially formed in 2008 after years in the making. Cliff Boren and his sister Suzanne Davis are at the helm of the company, but their late mother, Glenda Boren Paschal, unofficially planted the seeds for the company in the 1970s.

“My mom was a health nut in the late ’70s before it was chic,” says Boren. “She always had us taking vitamins, didn’t allow too many sweets in the house, and always had us do some alternative natural treatment when we got sick. So in a word, my mom raised us to be very conscious to always try to make natural health choices.”

Glenda started her own clay research while trying to find something that would relieve her terminally-ill husband’s radiation treatment burns and pain. Through this research, she became an expert on the uses and types of clays and even began using clays for her own facial masks.
