For Mansi Payet, pregnancy and motherhood are surely an experience that she would like to re-live
Tell me, how has motherhood changed you? What has your experience been like?
Mansi: I am a changed person post the birth of Kabir, and I must admit that I am loving every bit of it. If you thought life was hectic, wait until you have a baby. That’s the first thing you’ll realise because a mother’s radar is always on, and trust me, it doesn’t go off ! Not even when your baby is sound asleep right next to you. Motherhood is an absolutely beautiful and rewarding journey to embark on. You’ll learn so many things about yourself along the way. You will be surprised to learn about the strength you never knew had; overcome fears you never knew existed. Kabir has taught me what real happiness and love means. Motherhood is a bittersweet experience; you’re happy because you will never have a dull moment and emotional because you can’t hold on to these fleeting times. Babies grow up too fast.
I was 33 when Kabir was born but I can’t remember what life was like before him. I had promised myself that I wouldn’t be someone who let her life revolve around her children, but if I’m being honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Kabir has given me a newfound purpose. I finally found a passion in motherhood. That’s when I decided to start the YouTube Channel Mom Com India, with my husband Sourav. While my YouTube channel is a hobby, of sorts, I am glad to be working for a good company that offers flexibility to returning moms so they can balance life when its needed the most, though my career aspirations are on pause as of now. I opted to work from home till Kabir is old enough to begin playschool.
So when you decided to start a family, did you and Sourav sit down and talk it out?
