Breaking the good news about your pregnancy need not be a simple announcement—take a look at how some women have told their family and friends that a new member is on the way
IT’S happening. That euphoria of seeing those two lines shine bright on your pregnancy test has sunk in. Your partner and you are going to become parents. It’s time to let the family and the world know that you are bringing a new life into this world and you just can’t wait!
PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS
There are so many ways to break the news to the family—pick up the phone and tell it to them straight and simply wait for the squeals of joy on the other end. Or perhaps you call the family over for a meal and slowly break it to them and film their reactions—after all, it’s the age of cellphone cameras and literally everyone has some great stealth mode shooting skills. You could even consider leaving clues for the family, like the expectant mother I read about a while ago, who invited herself to her mother’s home for a meal. One of her favourite dishes are the dinner rolls that her mother bakes. Lovely mother and daughter conversation in progress, grandmother-to-be goes through the motions of preparing the dough expertly. As she opens the oven to put the bread pan in—lo and behold, there was a ‘bun in the oven!’ It did take a few minutes for it to sink in but then the screams of joy could be heard from two streets away.
