Lenovo hasn’t been in the global smartphone business for very long, but the world’s number one PC maker has already cracked the global top ten list of smartphones sold annually, though they are facing very tough competition from their fellow Chinese brands Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi and ZTE. In 2014 Lenovo purchased Motorola Mobility from Google primarily for brand recognition in the North American market, but the investment’s paid off to such an extent Lenovo have recently announced that from 2017 onwards their entire range of upcoming smartphones will be branded ‘Moto’.
