It’s going to happen now
Wearables were not doing well for a time, but that time is not the present. IDC’s forecast sees the smartwatch market gaining traction through to 2021, and as we all already know, Apple watch is the number two watch in the world ahead of established household brands like Rolex. That’s not all. The more expensive smartwatches are making up about slightly more than half the wearables market at the moment, and its market share is set to grow. And that’s good news on several levels.
One would be that there is an acknowledgement that smartwatches do serve some purpose and the other, more pertinent point is that people are more willing to let it into their lives.
