Arches National Park Cultural Highlights And Beachside Luxury In Vietnam

Within the first 10 minutes of my walking tour of Hoi An, my local tour guide – Uncle Sam – tells me that everyone who visits the town leaves their heart here and must visit again to pick it back up. Although I had only arrived in Vietnam the night before, I get the feeling that Uncle Sam is probably right, but of course I need more than a few hours there to really know...

Despite flying in at 10pm and getting to the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort at night, I am awed by the sheer size and opulence of the place. With three separate buildings – housing 258 hotel rooms, six food and beverage outlets, a ballroom, spa and so much more – the new five-star resort seems to have everything covered.

But it’s not until morning, when the jet lag has me up early and exploring the grounds, that I see the 250-metre infinity pool in all its glory. Facing the ocean at Non Nuoc beach, it’s hard to see where the pool ends and the sky begins. But what I can see is myself enjoying a cocktail or two in one of the cabanas later on.
