It’s a moment the proud mum feared she might never experience after she was diagnosed with breast cancer – twice.

Not only did Renata, 38, defeat the insidious disease, she also beat the odds to fall pregnant naturally with twins – and breastfeed them both after a mastectomy!

“Despite everything that has happened over the years, I feel pretty lucky,” Renata tells New Idea.

Renata was elated when her partner Luis, 37, whisked her away to Hamilton Island to propose in 2012.

However the bride-to-be’s joy was short-lived. Renata had found a marble-sized lump in her left breast.

Three weeks later, a biopsy revealed she had cancer.
