Tiffany Recalls The Day That Will Haunt Her Family Forever

How Could My Sister Kill Her Own Daughter?

It was June 2018 when 4-year-old Amelia left her aunty Tiffany’s flat with her mother.

She’d been singing and prancing around, making Tiffany and her husband Matthew laugh until tears rolled down their cheeks.

Amelia loved the songs from Frozen and when her mum, Carly Harris, 38, arrived to collect her she was in good spirits and joined in, dancing to rock band Paramore’s songs and enjoying two cans of beer.

“It’s time to go Amelia,” Carly shouted, before turning to her sister. “I’m really proud of you Tiff,” she said. “Now, say goodbye to Amelia.”

Remembering those words now sends a chill down Tiffany’s spine. Little did she know that Carly would later drown Amelia in a cold bath and burn her body on a coffee table in the back garden as part of a deluded “human sacrifice” ritual.

Now Tiffany Wright, 30, wants to tell New Idea about the horror of losing her beautiful niece and the heartache she feels every day.

“That day there was no sign whatsoever that anything was wrong,” Tiffany recalls sadly.

“We’d had a lovely visit with Amelia and Carly seemed fine. She seemed her normal partygirl self. If I’d have thought for a minute she was planning something terrible I’d have never said goodbye like that. Now it haunts me. Could I have made a difference?”

Tiffany was the first person Carly phoned after killing Amelia.

She made the call while standing over her daughter’s charred remains.

“It was about 10pm and I answered the phone and she said Amelia was dead,” Tiffany shudders.
