Framing Britney Spears is the gripping tell-all documentary that promised to expose the inner workings of the singer’s 12-year conservatorship, which sees her father, Jamie, control almost every aspect of her life. But instead, the film has laid bare yet another burden in Britney’s life – her ill-fated four-year romance with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake!

Since the doco premiered, Britney fans have been up in arms over the 39-year-old’s relationship with the NSYNC alum, which lasted from 1998 to 2002. Many have criticised how one of the most highly publicised Hollywood splits in the early noughties managed to see the pop princess’ reputation take an enormous hit.

“It’s hard to say whether she saw the film, considering how guarded she is. But the people who were close to Brit during those early years of her fame are glad Justin is finally getting his,” a Tinseltown insider tells New Idea.
