When Cassandra Thorburn took to the dance floor on Dancing with the Stars last week, no-one was more nervous than Cass herself, who described the experience as “the biggest challenge” of her life.

And while Australia appeared to get behind the single mum-of three, despite her receiving bad scores from the judges, her ex-husband Karl Stefanovic is said to have been making a mockery of her appearance on the reality show reboot in a string of text messages to his mates.

“Karl had some text banter going on with some of his lad mates,” a source close to the former Today host tells New Idea.

“They were taking the piss out of Cass’ debut – and when she finally took to the dance floor and the leader board delivered the tragic score, Karl was firing emojis of hysterical laughing faces.”
