THE FESTIVE SEASON WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN FOR PREGNANT LACI’S FAMILY
MURDERED BY A MONSTER ON CHRISTMAS EVE

It should have been a magical time for the Petersons. It was Christmas 2002 and school teacher Laci Peterson only had a month to go before giving birth to her first child.

Laci and her husband, Scott, had the holiday season to prepare for their little arrival, while enjoying festive merriment with their families.

But disaster struck on Christmas Eve when 27year-old Laci mysteriously disappeared after going for a walk with her dog.

On December 24, Scott left the house at 9.30am to go fishing in their new boat and, when he got back that afternoon, the heavily pregnant Laci was nowhere to be found.

A nationwide appeal was launched, with Scott at the forefront begging for information about his beloved wife’s disappearance.

It came to no avail – Laci seemed to have vanished without a trace.

The Christmas period passed in a nightmarish blur for the family, and then four months later, in April 2003, they received the news they’d been dreading.

Laci’s body and that of her unborn son, with his umbilical cord still attached, washed up on a rocky shore in San Francisco Bay. A passer-by walking a dog found them a few miles from where Scott said he’d gone fishing.
