It was a lifelong dream of Jennie Hill’s to become a mum. Ever since playing with dolls as a child, she has wanted to one day have four children of her own.

While it hasn’t been an easy road to motherhood, the 42-year-old is now overjoyed to be expecting her second baby and in an incredible twist, the unborn bub already shares a close bond with her older sister Harper, 2.

Jennie and her husband John have spent over $85,000 on IVF and after everything the couple have been through, it’s still hard for them to fathom that the baby Jennie is now carrying is actually their firstborn’s twin!

“It’s amazing that Harper will not only have a sibling in a few months time, but her baby brother or sister will be her twin,” Jennie beams, as she tells New Idea.

At the age of 26, Jennie, from Georgia, USA, felt ready to become a mum after completing her university degree and landing work as a research investigator.

But over the next 13 years, Jennie endured five devastating miscarriages before she was finally diagnosed with balanced translocation – a condition that increases a person’s chances of miscarrying by 95 per cent.

Jennie admits it was a lonely time in her life, as her friends announced their joy at falling pregnant she was faced with the very real prospect of never becoming a mother.
