Remember How Far You've Come...
How special is it to end 2017 with a wedding—and not just any ordinary one but the “Wedding of the Century?” Hayden and Vicki Belo-Kho blew everyone’s minds when they said their I do’s last September in Paris. The year-ender issue of Philippine Tatler for 2017 offers exclusive, never-before-seen photos taken just days before the wedding.
Being the Best Man, I was privy to all the happenings from start to finish, which made the wedding even more special—from the food tasting at Potel and Chabot headquarters, to the tour of the American Church in Paris and the Palais Garnier, as well as what was happening on the big day itself. (Not to mention the two day shoot for the magazine.)
On the day of the wedding, I rode with the groom, the couple’s adorable daughter Scarlet, and actor Piolo Pascual to the church. When we arrived, so many Filipinos living and working in Paris were already celebrity-spotting, complete with cheers for every familiar face they saw. There was hush when the bride came down in a resplendent blush pink Michael Cinco gown. She walked to a song that is a personal favourite, “With You” from the Broadway musical Pippin. Dr Ravi Zacharias, one of the most respected Christian apologists, officiated the ceremony. When the bride and groom each spoke their vows, there was no dry eye in the house. It was a moving declaration of faith, love, and devotion—heartfelt and honest.
