Wardrobe 03 marks Daniel Lee’s farewell performance for Bottega Veneta, effortlessly embodying the British designer’s visionary soul. The world was stunned at the announcement that Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director had departed from the Italian luxury fashion house in November 2021.
Since Lee joined Bottega Veneta in July 2018, his inspired viewpoint reinvigorated the brand with a fresh perspective. As he paved the way for a new sense of modernity, Lee met success while demonstrating a deep respect for the brand’s 56-year heritage.
A Resort 2022 collection rooted in the concept of escapism, Wardrobe 03 mixes bold hues with muted tones. Lee gives us fun, vibrant, energetic looks designed to have you meditating on the idea of breaking free from daily routines to chase an adventure instead. While daring us to evade the grind of responsibilities, Lee also reminds us of the simple pleasures of dressing up, absent for most throughout the pandemic.
Conventionally, Bottega Veneta uses Salon collections to present seasonal looks. The Wardrobe 03 collection is a pause between major seasonal releases that offer fashionistas more timeless staples mixed with high-impact statement pieces.
With 62 looks, the ready-to-wear collection blends bright prints with restrained hues while toying with inventive silhouettes and cult magnetism. The results are clothes that appear as artistic objects when hung on their hanger.
