ROLEX
While watches catered to southpaws are a rarity but no oddity in the Rolex sphere, the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II is still a pleasantly unexpected surprise. The new iteration sees the winding crown relocated to the left side of the 40 mm case and the date aperture, along with the Cyclops lens, moved to 9 o'clock on the black dial. This required modification of the date disc and several technical adjustments in terms of the movement and the Superlative Chronometer certification. As the world opens up for travel again, this is a watch that will come in handy for both left- and right-handed hodophiles. Designed to simultaneously display two time zones, the GMT-Master II features an arrow-tipped hand that circles the dial once every 24 hours and a bidirectional rotatable 24-hour graduated bezel -| with a two-colour Cerachrom insert in green and black ceramic - in addition to conventional hour, minute and seconds hands. Crafted from the highly resistant Osytersteel, the watch is waterproof to 330 feet and has approximately 70 hours of power reserve thanks to the new calibre 3285 that beats within, which, like all Rolex Perpetual movements, is a certified Swiss chronometer.
