Somebody once said – Writing is a passion, but selling is a business. If you are an author who just loves to write, then you don’t need to bother with marketing or selling. But if you are publishing books intending to reach a large number of readers, then you must learn how to market your books. Marketing involves engaging your reader audience by sharing news about yourself and your book. But it’s not as simple as communication as it involves a lot of effort and also some expenditure. This article provides a bunch of ideas that you can use to promote your book.
Own blog or website - You can help readers know about you by having a simple blog or website that provides details about yourself, your books, and how to contact you. You can also have free eBooks and sample chapters for readers to sample your books before they buy it. You can have a newsletter subscription and post high-quality content to encourage your target audience to subscribe for updates. Having a website will give readers a single place to know about you instead of getting bits and pieces of information from multiple online sources.
Use social media - Set up an author page on social media sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other sites. Post your articles and comments there. Observe what kind of posts and comments get the most likes, shares, and retweets. Use that information to fine-tune your engagement with your readers. Also, request your friends, coworkers, and relatives to share your book details on their social media accounts. The more you share the better it is to get your book noticed.
