Actress, director, producer, comedic genius and entrepreneur Michelle Chong makes it sound so easy.
Vivacious with an infectious sense of humour, and incredibly down to earth, Michelle arrives for our cover shoot in a plain white tee with snug-fitting jeans, and a big smile. One of Singapore’s most loved actresses, we discover that she is super pragmatic when it comes to achieving her dreams and her passion projects.
We also find out that the star of TV’s The Noose is extremely money-savvy as she tells us how she tackles business so successfully.
DO WHAT YOU KNOW BEST
If you’re toying with the idea of starting a business, Michelle advises: “Always make sure you choose something you are good at and passionate about.”
In fact, passion is what led to the birth of her production house Huat Films in 2011, and Left Profile in 2012, a talent management agency. As an actress familiar with artiste management, setting this second one up was a no-brainer.
As we speak, we also find out that Michelle is in the middle of settling a long string of post-production matters, from voice-overs and sound effects to graphics and colour grading, for her upcoming third film Lulu The Movie, which opens in cinemas on Nov 24.
