Ryan reynolds is funny. Scroll through his Twitter feed, and you will chuckle at his thoughts on fatherhood (example: “My infant daughter’s traumatised for life. 50 Shades of Grey = Worst colouring book ever”), and his bawdy responses to trolls making a pass at him.

Reynolds has been on the scene for a long time—remember his role in late 1990s sitcom Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place, and his string of early noughties comedies including Van Wilder, and Definitely, Maybe? Entertaining, but not exactly memorable. It all changed last year with the release of Deadpool, the action comedy based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. In the span of one year, the Vancouver-born star became Hollywood’s hottest property and gained critical acclaim for his snarky portrayal of the anti-hero gone good, earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and even bagging nominations at most award shows, including the Golden Globes.
