Tell us about the Indian Savanna.
Indian Savanna is a second home to bird photographers and nature lovers, just 320 kms drive from Delhi, the world’s most polluted city. It’s a paradise to relax and rejuvenate with Himalayan birds. The camp is 100-percent ecofriendly; the food and other eatables are grown in the kitchen garden. Situated in one of the most pristine locations in Uttarakhand – the Sat-tal – Indian Savanna is a must-visit place for all bird lovers with around 270+ species round the year. Without a doubt, Sat-tal is one of the most promising paradise for birds and mammals. The camp is located very close to the Kathgodam Railway station and 100 kms from Jim Corbett National Park. This is an important point as it allows you to spend more time viewing birds and less time travelling. The camp also has a water body in the centre, so in the morning you may see the birds coming to drink in front of your hut – an unforgettable experience. We have our own water supply through rain harvesting and use solar electricity. For hot water, we use solar heaters. We believe that there is much more to Uttarakhand than being driven around in a vehicle while passively viewing birds and animals. In combining the ultimate itinerary with an expert guide, we create the complete journey, where experiences, knowledge and passions are shared and whereby a standard Safari is transformed into an extraordinary one.
