Ubisoft went back to the roots when they released the Far Cry Primal in 2016. Although Primal, in its own right, was a good game, it replaced guns with weapons suited in the primal era. However, with Far Cry 5, the franchise comes to the present in a modern day setting, latest weaponry and a wide open world.&nbsp;Far Cry 5 is set in a fictitious Hope County, Montana, USA where a religious cult has taken over the peace and freedom loving town and in Far Cry style, you have to set the region free from the cult and its leader - Joseph Seed. Villains in Far Cry franchise have got special attention in the past and while we&rsquo;re not sure if Seed is comparable to Vaas or Pagan Min (from Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 respectively) during our brief session but given the detailed 20-25 minute introductory video on Seed and his influence on the cult, we get an impression that Ubisoft seems to have thoughtfully etched out the character and the backstory.You play as part of the Resistance that helps to reduce the influence of the cult and ultimately take the cult down by taking down shrines, capturing outposts and radio tower.The gameplay is as expected from a Far Cry game with few additional enhancements. The game allows you to ride solo or get some help with &lsquo;Guns for Hire&rsquo; and &lsquo;Fangs for Hire&rsquo; who&rsquo;ll help take down some enemies while you wait in the woods. Far Cry 5 also supports online co-op play allowing to play the main story with a companion.All said and done, we managed to scratch just the surface of the game in our three-hour session but we were happy with what we saw and played.Disclosure: The first look is based on a preview build of the game.
