HTC’s Latest Flagship Phone Is Big, Mighty With Dual Screens
HTC had been on the forefront of a revolution when Android was just a blip in the smartphone market years ago. Innovative designs, bold strategy is what made HTC, a darling amongst Android fans and while things have slowed down for the Taiwanese company, we still see some interesting devices coming out from their side. Case in point, the new HTC U Ultra.
U Ultra is the best that HTC can offer right now and it’s claim to fame is the Dual Display and Sense Companion. But are these enough to sway customers from Apple, Samsung and Google devices? Let’s find out.
HTC U Ultra is a beautiful-looking phone. The molded glass at the front and back are fused together with the metal side that gives the phone a distinct look. It’s solidly built as well. However, the looks have a downside. First, the phone is rendered very slippery and its big size also makes it difficult to hold and use with one hand. Secondly, the back is a fingerprint magnet. We’re not sure if HTC applied some coat on the display to avoid the finger smudges but it certainly is not the case at the back. A quick workaround to address the fingerprints is to snap on the clear case that HTC bundles along with the device.
As for the placement, we’ve got the power and volume keys on the right, a dual-SIM card hybrid slot at the top, and the USB Type-C at the bottom along with the Boom Sound loudspeaker. The protruding camera is at the back. The front camera is accompanied by the secondary display, while the main display and fingerprint sensor rests below them.
