Infinix is a relatively new entrant in the Indian market and hoping to exploit the 15-20k gap in the mid-range segment with the Zero 5.The design might not be truly unique but the chamfered edges, contoured back and 2.5D curved glass do give it an aesthetically pleasing look. There are three colour variants to choose from including Bordeaux Red, Champagne Gold with white bezels and Sandstone Black with black ones on the front. The bezels are quite noticeable since this is not a 18:9 display and it loses points here as the market is slowly gravitating towards such edge-to-edge displays. Width wise, the conventional 16:9 aspect ratio seen here does gain more screen real estate, so it really boils down to your personal preference. However, it is quite heavy and one handed usage is unwieldy, although you could select one hand mode from the drop down menu which shrinks the display. Speaking of the Full HD screen, it&rsquo;s vibrant, has a wide enough viewing angle and readability in sunlight is perfectly fine. Colour can be manually adjusted according to preferences thanks to Miravision. Coming to the rear, the dual camera setup rests neatly in a band and doesn&rsquo;t jut out like many recent devices.On paper, it is promising, with a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 13MP telephoto lens but the results were mixed. Under ideal outdoor conditions with enough light, the shots look colourful and bright. Low light indoor clicks were another story as unwanted noise permeates them and thus details are lost. Bokeh shots weren&rsquo;t detecting edges correctly and blurring was generally uneven. The camera app includes a bevy of modes like beauty, night, panorama, time lapse, watermark, professional and portrait. The front camera snapped adequate selfies but tweaking left us with varying results, so auto mode works best here. Coming down to the fingerprint sensor, it took some time to setup but unlocked flawlessly. At the bottom you can find the USB Type-C port, speaker grille and 3.5mm audio jack. Sound was loud yet clear at maximum volume, with little to no distortion. The XOS 3.0 user interface is based on Nougat build but it is highly customised, so purists will not be happy and there was some unneeded bloatware. There was slight stuttering when scrolling but it was rare and touch responsiveness for the most part passed muster.
