Upon opening the laptop, you will be greeted with a very decent keyboard layout although we wish the touchpad could be somewhat closer to the center. The backlit keys shine enough to be quite visible even in well-lit areas making it perfect for late night work sessions. It would have been preferable to have regular sized &lsquo;Up&rsquo; and &lsquo;Down&rsquo; arrow keys especially since they are used often but this is a common problem with many laptops. Nearby is a touch-type fingerprint reader that accurately detected our login although sometimes it failed to either register or outright rejected it. Still, better to have it than not as security is treated as an important aspect here. There is a physical camera shutter that can replace those numerous post-it notes used to hide the webcam. As the OS of choice is Windows 10 Pro, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) with Bitlocker helps encrypt data and passwords. Coming to the screen, the anti-glare display really helps indoors but viewing outside is hindered for which we place the blame on the TN panel with limited viewing angles and low brightness. Even at peak level, it was lacking making it better to use the device inside. The performance is snappy and quick in normal scenarios like productivity work and web browsing. Opening up around 20 tabs and playing a high bit rate video in a separate application didn&rsquo;t slow it down at all. However, the stereo speakers placed at the front edge are just passable but this is understandable as sound isn&rsquo;t the focus. The connectivity selection is inspiring as always because where else would you get VGA along with two USB-C ports? The trade-off (or benefit depending on your situation) is that it leads to having only two USB 3.0 ports. The ventilation system is located at the bottom with the heat shunted out from the back holes. This is an odd design decision as it gets a little blocked by the hinge cover.
