A PERFECT MIX OF DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

Xiaomi enthralled the world when it first introduced its Mi Mix smartphone last year. Despite the device was limited as a concept, it gave us a glimpse of what Xiaomi really thought of the future smartphone design. This year, Xiaomi seems to have managed to transform that concept into a something that is ready for consumers. But is the device worthy enough for consumers to take the plunge with Xiaomi’s most expensive smartphone in the Indian markets to date? We find out.

EXEMPLARY DESIGN

Just like the original Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2 is jointly designed by world-renowned designer Philippe Starck. It follows the same award-winning design language that Xiaomi set with the Mi Mix but this time, the new phone comes with some refinements. The full display design is the focus here with virtually no bezel at the sides, save for the chin, which Xiaomi says, has been reduced by 12 percent when compared to Mi Mix. The Mi Mix 2 may not feel light at 185g but certainly feels nice in the hands.

At the back, the phone boasts a four-sided curved ceramic body that looks and feels premium but makes the phone a fingerprint magnet and slippery. Luckily, Xiaomi bundles a cover in the sales package that gives the phone the much-needed grip. Additionally, there’s an 18-karat gold plated camera rim and an aerospacegrade aluminium frame for better durability.
