The Good Fight
The Malaysian Women\'s Weekly|July 2018

Singer Pink is known for her strong signature voice and a literally acrobatic ability on stage. Now riding on the success of her new album, Beautiful Trauma, she talks about being a mum and surviving in the pop industry.

The Good Fight

Suited in a military green bomber jacket, Asian-inspired combats and a soaring rockabilly quaff, Pink aka Alecia Moore shows that she is a woman in control of all around her.

Her booming cackle and exciting gestures exude confidence while an open and frank nature indicates a strong sense of security in who she is.

However, appearances can be deceiving. Chatting about her latest album, Beautiful Trauma, the 38 year-old mum of two admits her nerves often get the better of her.“I still get nervous about every new thing I do, everything new that comes out, be it albums, tours or songs,” she admits. “Am I going to suck? Will I sound even more like Alvin and the Chipmunks? I won’t ever get over that and I probably don’t want to if I am honest. ”

Honesty – the heart and soul of her image. Seventeen years after Pink’s breakthrough with the R’n’B-flavoured ’ Can’t Take Me Home which h thrust her into the spotlight, the star has kept her ever-growing masss of fans guessing and the hits coming.

Her chart-toppers include “Get This Party Started”, “Stupid Girls”, “Try”, “Just Give Me a Reason”, “Just Like A Pill” – all delivered with her signature swag and style.

Fun, flirty, irreverent and down-to-earth, Pink is an utter pleasure to talk to. Like an old best friend, she opens up about her family, her guilt as a working parent and her marriage to Carey Hart (with whom she has a daughter, Willow, six years old, and eighteen-m month-old son Jameson). She also chats candidly about her new album Beautiful Trauma, her collaboration with Eminem, her rousing speech at the VMAs and why she strivess to be a better parent.
