Using brand-new technology to be at the forefront of second-hand luxury.
The second-hand luxury market was worth 16 billion euros (S$26 billion) in 2014 – significant, but a drop in the ocean as compared to the counterfeit goods market, which was worth US$460 billion (S$611 billion) in 2016, according to the International Trademark Association. And yet, notes Michael Finn – co-founder of pre-owned luxury goods website The Fifth Collection, along with his wife, Nejla Matam-Finn – while “counterfeiters have been getting more sophisticated, our industry has more or less stayed where it is for decades”.
