Lisa-Marie Ferla looks forward to an exciting month of music.
I LOVE coming across new music in circumstances that are a little bit out of the ordinary. There’s a sense of serendipity to it, of discovery; plus the power that the right piece of music has to connect you to a specific place or time becomes even more potent when that place or time is a little different.
With long summer nights and lazy weekends begging to be made the most of, June is full of opportunity: to pair the brightest names in independent music with the best of the country’s craft beer and artisan spirits.
June is also the month in which we learn the critics’ choice of the best Scottish album released over the previous year. The winner of the sixth annual Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award, and a £20,000 cash prize, will be announced at Paisley Town Hall on the 28th of the month.
