It is the most famous avenue in the French capital, and the world, and the Avenue des Champs-Elysées shines like a diamond in the heart of Paris with Place de la Concorde on one end and the Arc de Triomphe on the other, and a myriad of boutiques and hotels aligning it.
It is along the Avenue des Champs-Elysées that you will find the famous Louis Vuitton flagship store where the French house showcases its collections of leather goods, ready-to-wear lines and jewellery collections. Sprawled over four floors, the boutique, listed as a historical monument, is as famous for its windows as for its selection of monogrammed bags, so even as you stroll along the famous avenue your eyes will be treated to the talents of the house.
It is also on the Avenue that one of the most anticipated openings took place. In late March, Parisians from every corner of the city flocked to the 8th arrondissement for the grand opening of the new Galeries Lafayette department store. The first major department store to open on the avenue, Galeries Lafayette brings clients an extensive list of luxury brands under the one stylish roof. Spread out over four floors, shoppers will find collections and limited edition pieces from high-end brands including Comme des Garçons, Fendi and Jimmy Choo, as well as a beauty department that offers a wide range of beauty and skincare products from brands including Lipstick Queen and Diptyque. The department store also boasts a food court inviting guests to discover the sweet delights of some of France’s renowned chefs and pastry chefs.
