With Valentine’s Day at hand, nowhere compares to the self-proclaimed city of love. Here are ten good reasons why you’ll want to fall in love with Paris.
1. Parisian passion
Every street you walk in Paris seems to echo with stories of love and romance. Beneath the sensible civilised face of the city sits unreserved passion – whether you stroll through the gardens of the Palace of Fontainebleau or sample the Art Nouveau décor, there is a tale of love to be seen on every corner.
2. Finest food
Paris boasts an astounding 70 Michelin starred restaurants and ten of those have three stars to their name, so if you have a penchant for finer foods, there is definitely something for you to enjoy.
3. Captivating cathedrals
Notre Dame Cathedral is arguably the most stunning gothic construction in the world. Envisioned in the 12th century and finally opened in the 14th, Notre Dame was the heartbeat of medieval Paris. Just down from the Notre Dame Cathedral is Sainte-Chapelle, erected in the mid-13th century by King Louis IX, and replete with some of the world’s most imaginative stained glass windows, elaborate carving and creative wall painting.
4. Cheerfully cheap
