Can the shape of your hat make you a more successful hunter?
In military circles, the keys to concealment are widely thought to be shadow, shine and shape. Stay in the shadows whenever possible, ensure that nothing you wear or carry reflects light, and finally, prevent the enemy, or in this case our quarry, from seeing a human silhouette. It doesn’t matter if you’re camouflaged up to your nostrils if the give-away human shape still stands out. This is why ghillie suits are used by snipers for the ultimate camouflage, because they end up looking more like a shapeless bush than a human. However, they’re not very practical in the world of hunting, and quite frankly, I’d feel too silly wearing one.
