The young Australian made an instant impression on his debut in the European U23 racing scene.
Tell us a bit about him.
The 19-year-old is the latest in a long list of talented young Australian riders to keep a look out for. Although Robert was born in Sydney, his family moved to New Zealand when he was young, and that is where he grew up and has lived since. He finished 11th in the junior time trial at the Worlds in Qatar, racing for New Zealand (pictured), but at the start of last year he decided to switch back to the country of his birth and an Australian licence to continue his cycling development.
