Traditional muscle car fans haven’t gotten much love from the RC world over the years. Muscle car selections have traditionally been limited to semi scale bodies adapted onto existing touring-car chassis—with mixed results. Accurate scale wheelbases and body contours were often sacrificed, and even when the looks came fairly close, the performance of these adaptations didn’t always live up to the tough muscle car styling. The off-road crowd has embraced realistic scale accuracy in a big way in recent years, so perhaps it was only a matter of time until those same scale priorities filtered down to the on-road category too. Whatever the catalyst, the result is that now scale-accurate renditions of classic performance cars are available ready to go—fast—right out of the box. And there is no better-looking example of a scale-accurate RTR than Kyosho’s Fazer VEi 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS 454 LS6. Thanks to Kyosho, we all get a chance to drop the hammer on a 1/10 version of the mightiest muscle Chevy of all time. Let’s see if it lives up to the legend.
