Tamiya Blackfoot

When I was a kid my dad took me to Branford Hobbies in Branford, Connecticut, to pick up my first hobby grade RC car: a Tamiya Frog. While we were there, he asked if I’d like to get the Blackfoot instead, but I turned it down. Who knew that you could actually change your mind and get something that wasn’t what you went to the store for? The truth was that I really wanted that Blackfoot; it was really cool and fit me much better that the Frog. For many years, I wished that I had said, “Sure, Dad—I’ll take the Blackfoot!” Now, thanks to the rerelease train that Tamiya is driving, I am finally able to have that Blackfoot, and boy am I excited! The cool thing is that this version is slightly updated to make it drive better and be more durable. And my detailing skills are way more advanced, which means that I’ll have the best-looking Blackfoot in the neighborhood. For those who were into RC during the Blackfoot days, here’s a blast from the past. For those who are new to this awesome truck, welcome to good-time RC.
