Giants release Cruz, Jennings.
When it came to Victor Cruz’s future, the New York Giants will not have this dance.
The team released Cruz on Feb. 13, ending the wide receiver’s seven-year tenure with the team. Also released was RB Rashad Jennings, the Giants leading rusher the past two seasons.
Cruz’s release was first reported by Kim Jones of NFL Network, who relayed that Cruz was “OK” with the way things had transpired. Cruz himself took to Instagram to address his departure, posting a photo of himself hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy in the Super Bowl XLVI celebration, accompanying the heartfelt caption of “No long paragraph for all to read, just simply THANK YOU! To the @nygiantsorganization and to the amazing fans that have watched me grow up in front of their eyes. THANK YOU!!”
