Determined to leave that unsavory tradition in the past, the Giants began a new era with a victory...and dealt a loss to a new enemy possibly beginning an era of his own.

Victor Cruz nabbed a 3-yard touchdown pass, part of a trio of Eli Manning throwing scores, and the Giants defeated the Dallas Cowboys 20-19 to open their 2016 regular season slate, as well as Ben McAdoo’s head coaching career.

The victorious dawn of the McAdoo era was part of a comeback effort, as the Giants won their first opener since 2010. One of the few holdovers from that team, Manning, also threw touchdown passes to Sterling Shepard and Larry Donnell, as the Giants made up several different deficits in the win. It was the last one that gave the Giants the lead for good, capping off a 9-play, 54 yard drive with 6:13 to go in the final period.
