A leading collectable toy soldier maker for more than 70 years, Alymer is well known to hobbyists across the globe. The Spanish brand has one of the widest ranges of figures offered by any manufacturer and continues to launch new items.
The products under review in this article are a mix of reissues and new releases that range from the warriors of the ancient world to the combatants of the Spanish Civil War.
First up is a Medo- Persian Cavalryman from the early years of the Persian Empire. The rider’s bronze helmet, flowing tunic and spear indicate he is a light cavalryman. The bow and quiver of arrows on his back suggest he could dis mountand deploy equally effectively as an archer. A highly versatile fighting man. The figure is simply but boldly painted and retails for €37.
