Singer Kanika Kapoor indulges in some candid talk with Devesh Sharma

Kanika Kapoor Says Mumbai Has Been Lucky For Her

She’s clad in a simple white tee and jeans and looks like she’s fresh out of college. Kanika Kapoor has landed in Mumbai just a few days ago after doing a show abroad and has to rush back to her home in London to touch base with her kids. After that she will be off to another destination for another concert. The mother of three – yeah, you read that right – spends more time in planes than daily commuters do on Mumbai locals. Despite all that, she’s glowing, her manicured nails buffed to polished mirrors, her eyes sparkling with amusement, an infectious half smile playing on her lips, a smile that doesn’t falter even once during the interview. Her phone buzzes constantly, some calls she ignores but she does take composer Amit Trivedi’s call. She has sung for him in Udta Punjab and tries to cajole him to send her a sample of her peppy song Da da dasse. They talk about doing a media interaction along with Alia Bhatt and promoting it well. She glances at me, mouths a sorry, puts the phone down and promises to take no more calls.
