PARK rally driver Cal-lum Devine flew out to Sweden on Sun-day, ahead of his full debut in the Junior World Rally Championship later this week.
Last season, Devine won the Junior British Rally Championship and claimed victory at the Ypres Rally in Belgium.
After winning the prestigious Billy Coleman Award for Young Irish Driver of the Year in December, the 23 year-old signed for the M-Sport team.
Devine spent Monday training in Sweden as part of the rally programme, getting prepared for three days of rallying, begin ning on Friday.
“We will start our recce (re connaissance) and making our pace notes. That’ll take us Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The rally will be on Friday, Saturday and finishing early on Sunday,” Devine told the County Derry Post.
It is a first venture to Sweden and the snowy conditions will provide a different proposition.
