LOCAL residents in Limavady have expressed their outrage at the ongoing maintenance taking place at the Roe Valley Country Park.

Outrage Over Ongoing Maintenance At Roe Valley Country Park

Following the discovery that 100-year-old arched bridges within the park had been replaced, along with trees having been cut down and pathways stoned, angered locals took to social media to express their disgrace at the recent adjustments.

One user posted: “Would have been great if they had asked the Limavady people 1st or spent the money repairing the East bank which has been closed for the past 5/6 years. I never seen any plans or proposals published for public viewing. Disgraceful.”

Another user labelled the ongoing work as, “largely unnecessary”, saying: “The east bank was a more obvious place where funds could’ve been directed since the argument is that they can’t afford to fix it. Shame on them for destroying the old bridge.”
