Rape Of Minors Rocks Arunachal Pradesh Two Accused Lynched By Mob

The rape of minor girls in the otherwise peaceful frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh has sent shock waves across and beyond the state. In one of the three cases the minor girl whose age was just a little above five years was murdered after being sexually assaulted. In another case the perpetrator was the victim’s teacher.

In the first case, the little girl who was studying in upper kindergarten went missing from her home at Namgo Mishmi village in Lohit district on 12th February. As soon as her where about was not known, her parents lodged a complaint at the Police Out Post in Wakro, the administrative circle headquarter and then started a frantic search for the little girl. On 17th February, the dead body of the little girl was found in a tea garden about 300 meters away from her house in a mutilated state. The next day on 18th February, the Incharge of Wakro Police Out Post Inspector, Thomas Pertin led in the arrest of two accused Sanjay Sobor and Jagdish Lohar. The duos are tea garden labourers from Assam and were later found that they had entered the state without the mandatory Inner Line Permits.
