Indian podcasts are finding listeners before they find money
The year 2019 marks the beginning of a golden age for podcasts. Dave Zohrob, co-founder and CEO of Chartable, a podcast analytics firm, said so recently. Figures backed his claim. In the last year, an average of 575 new podcasts entered the global market every day, about one every three minutes. And when consulting firm PwC projected revenue growth at over 30 per cent between 2018 and 2022, the podcast ‘boom’ was audible. But with over 1.5 million listens a month, India, for its part, had already tuned in.
