While I’m out of management, I want to make sure I cover as many different levels of the game so I’m fully up to speed with teams and players when an opening arises.
I saw FC United win a scrappy game 2-0 at Radcliffe on Tuesday. Boro have got some decent players but Griffiths in FC’s midfield oozed class.
He’s far too good for that league. He’s been brought up through Bolton Wanderers’ academy and, technically, you can see that.
Striker Tunde Owolabi stood out as well. He’s raw but rapid and you can see his impact on other teams. But Griffiths is one of the best midfielders I’ve seen at these levels for a long time.
He reminds me of former Lincoln City and Grimsby Town midfielder Jon Nolan, who is now at Ipswich Town. He almost glided through the game. He goes about his business quietly and effectively, he’s great with both feet, has a wide range of passing and is aggressive in the tackle. He stood out a mile.
