FEW managers will have experienced the highs and lows that Harry Wheeler has – and he’s still only 31 years old!
The former Billericay Town boss is one of Non-League’s most promising managerial talents – but his pathway has been far from straightforward.
From hiding in a hedge to watch and learn from training sessions put on by Arsene Wenger to then being sacked, twice, sitting first and fourth in National League South – it’s fair to say Wheeler has seen a lot in his 11 years of senior football.
“I’ve done just under 600 games by 31,” he told The NLP. “I had my A-Licence at 23 which was the youngest in Europe at the time. At my age I probably have the experience of a 50-yearold manager.
“You’ve got to embrace the good and bad. I’ve had both sides that some managers will never experience in terms of winning a treble or getting sacked when you’re top.
