ENGLAND defeated a previously unbeaten France 22-6 in Beziers as they got their campaign back on track.

Having suffered their first defeat of the tournament against Scotland two weeks ago, England sealed a thrilling victory which keeps alive their hopes of lifting the title against Ireland at the Ricoh Arena next weekend.

Head coach Steve Bates said: “It was a really big Test match, which had the feel of a big game and to come and win in France is a significant result.

“We still made some errors in the first 20 minutes and know we can get better, but the side is developing all the time and that is crucial. The overall performance was very good.
