Movie Star Spacey ‘Strenuously' Denies Sex Assaults In UK Court Appearance

The double Oscar winner, 62, “strenuously denied” five offences at Westminster Magistrates Court.

His dramatic entrance came after the US actor jetted into the UK pledging to clear his name.

The American Beauty and Usual Suspects star is accused of four counts of sexual assault and one of causing a person to engage in a sex act without consent.

The charges relate to three men, now in their 30s and 40s, in London and Gloucestershire from 2005 to 2013. At the time, Spacey was artistic director of London’s Old Vic theatre.

He was not asked to enter pleas during the preliminary hearing.

But his barrister Patrick Gibbs QC told the court: “Mr Spacey strenuously denies any and all criminality in this case.

Warrant

“He has returned to the UK in order to establish his innocence.
